What is health according to Ayurveda?
In this blog, I discuss the Ayurvedic perspectives of what is health.
A healthy person is described in classical Ayurveda texts as:
“One whose Doshas are balanced, whose digestive fire (Agni) is balanced, whose bodily tissues (Dhātus) and elimination processes (Malas) are functioning normally, and whose senses (Indriya), mind (Manas), and Self (Ātmā) are filled with bliss, such a one is called a healthy person.”
My ancestral link to Ayurveda and Vedic science: great-grandfather Pandit Shiv Persaud Sharma of Guyana – a visionary leader
Pandit Sharma was a people person who did his best for his family, his fellow citizens, and his country Guyana. He was a founder member of the Gandhi Youth Organisation and an Ashram at Cove and John. So I believe he fulfilled his Karma and his Dharma.
