Happy Autumn Equinox: 22/23 September, 2022 for the Northern Hemisphere

What is the significance of Equinoxes holistically?

The literal meaning of the Latin word 'Equinox' is "the time of equal days and nights". It signifies a moment of stillness before the Earth shifts directions, and approximately equal forces of light and darkness.

In these fast-paced and rapidly changing times, 3 Autumnal Equinox themes are 𝒓𝒆𝒇𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒕, 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒕, and 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒕 for a new life cycle. As Autumn sets in, Vata Dosha predominates and requires balancing. Vata is responsible for all mind and body movement, and governs movement in Nature and the vast cosmos.

❂ Mentally + Spiritually:

Slow down, meditate in silence or pause in Nature, and reflect on all the intentions and goals you set at the beginning of the year. Celebrate and "harvest" the rewards of achievements, or inner peace, health or success from your practice of letting go, reconnecting to consciousness, diligence, dedication, and focused work.

❂ Emotionally:

If you had a challenging year so far, shift your mindset from deficiency to sufficiency and bounty.

When you operate from a space of fear, lack, or worry, you tend to be in a dark place - your energy and heart are constricted and restricted.

If you shift your consciousness to align with faith, hope, and prosperity, you will attract what you need as well as surplus to give to others from a centered heart space. This can be on the energetic and monetary levels. Our energy is currency and money is symbolic for the exchange of energy. So treat your attention and energy with care, love and value.

❂ Physically:

Do breathing techniques; gentle exercise like Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Yoga, brisk walking but not too vigorous exercise like running, weight-training or cycling 8K; balance or pacify Vata Dosha in the physiology by eating foods which are seasonal, fresh, oily, warm, heavier in quality and sweer, sour and salty in taste.

Try to avoid or reduce processed foods or ready-made meals; caffeine; foods which are cold, dry, light and raw in quality; astringent, bitter and pungent in taste.
